Midas’s Moment Education was taken in placeMidas, the one and only art club of MCH, and the ethical use of AI Art.

MIDAS is holding the event.

Moment Education has been held every month at MCH. The events have been an opportunity for students to learn what isn’t taught in class in school. Generally, it deals with specific anniversaries or current issues. Club students run the event actively. From choosing the topics to preparing experiential events, the students learn how to lead education effectively.

This year’s freshmen class experienced Moment Education for the first time, and the response has been positive.  A freshman said that this event allowed him to have a new and unique experience in this high school and that one of the best parts of this event was that he could communicate with many of his peers.

The club that hosted in April was MIDAS, the one and only art club in MCH. MIDAS members are all interested in art and are offered various art tools to give their activities.

Their theme this month was ‘The Ethical Use of AI Art’. The event showed MCH students the direction of AI in the current art and culture society. They also hoped to instill an awareness of World Art Day. They pointed out that the use of AI art recently has been increasing. However, because of the absence of any rules or regulations, improper use such as ignoring copyrights has become a problem that needs our attention. They explain the current situation about AI art and the right-practice of using AI art and ask the students’ opinions about that. Taking advantage of the characteristics of the art club, they conducted a joint Canvas art production activity on the subject.

With so many people gathered, we were able to interview the hosts and participants. A MIDAS member said that they prepared the event to get students to recognize the problems and develop their thinking through creative activities. The experiential activity of creating one’s art that they think the AI can’t do on a real canvas allowed students to think broadly, deeply, and in new directions, and not only learn about AI art.

A 2nd grade student, Seo-yoon Park shared her thoughts about becoming interested in the subject of AI art which she had never thought about before. “I think the employment of AI in other fields will also require detailed consideration and careful thought about how to use it correctly.”

Various student-led events will be held at MCH in the future. We ask for your interest every time.
